Job Duties:

IHS Markit’s PGCR practice investigates the strategic issues facing the region’s energy market development and helps clients navigate an exciting yet highly uncertain market landscape via both retainer research and bespoke consulting. As a leader of gas and power research team in the region, the Senior Manager will in particular focus on energy markets in China and will be heavily involved in research and consulting activities with significant external-facing and managing opportunities.

Lead China power and renewables research by setting a research agenda that is ahead-of-the-curve and helps clients expect the unexpected.

Guide the team in analyzing power demand and supply data through modeling and combine with non-quantitative drivers such as policies and politics to create critical insights on market trends, policy direction, and the future development of power and renewables market.

Generate original research ideas that feed into IHS Markit retainer services and continue to build our reputation as a thought leading firm in the Chinese energy sector.

Lead the team to carry out strategic topical research to help clients understand policies, anticipate critical trends, examine the competitive landscape, and identify opportunities.

Deliver insights through written reports, presentations at company and industry events and one-on-one sessions with clients.

Review the team’s written reports to maintain comprehensive and consistent research messages throughout the Greater China PGCR coverage.

Engage in applied research and consulting projects in customized studies for clients.

Work closely with Sales and Marketing colleagues to generate business opportunities for IHS Markit’s global PGCR products and services.

Help drive consulting opportunities and lead engagements that leverage IHS Markit information and insights.

Act as a core member of IHS Markit’s broader Asia energy research and consulting team, working collaboratively with colleagues in our global offices elsewhere.

Manage a team to help with their career and talent development.



任职要求：

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree relevant areas, e.g., economics, business, engineering.

Preference to be given to advanced degree holders and those with previous manager experience.



Required Experience:

A 10-15 years gas/power/renewables industry experience gained through employment with a gas/power utility, generator/supplier, equipment and service company, financial investor, and/or an energy consultancy.

Experience in writing succinct reports and effectively presenting research and consulting deliverables to a professional energy audience.

Chinese/English bilingual fluency in professional settings.

Other skills:

Ability to examine data and information and use analytical tools to identify important strategic trends in the industry.

A strong desire to establish oneself as a thought leader in the field and ability to establish a wide network in the gas and power sector.

A consummate team player and manager, at ease in the fast pace of a research and consulting business, where timelines are varied and deadlines rigorous.

Acute awareness to potential commercial opportunities and the ability to help both the client and internal IHS Markit colleagues in refining and qualifying those opportunities.
