We are looking to recruit a Project Manager as part of the Professional Services team. SDL Professional Services teams works with SDL clients to provide training, expert services, implementation services and best practice use of SDL products. 



This role requires a self-starting capable team player with business and IT skills and the ability to effectively communicate with senior business contacts as well as the technical team. They must be able to work in a professional manner with clients and at all times remain focused on key Professional Services goals, primarily brand protection, financial effectiveness and client satisfaction.



SDL is seeking an experienced multi-lingual Enterprise Project Manager to join a global team supporting mission-critical enterprise software for a host of blue-chip customers. We are looking for a highly analytical and articulate individual to work in a busy team providing high-quality project management support to internal and external users. The successful candidate will thrive in a challenging environment where they will be constantly gaining knowledge of SDL applications across various platforms and solutions such as our SDL Tridion DX and SDL Language Technologies, covering mainly server based applications. The candidate must be highly organized, customer focused and commercially aware. 



Key Responsibilities



• Demonstrate an understanding of the SDL project management methodology.

• Project manage implementations that require a custom proposal or statement of work, a range of technologies to provide the solutions and a project team including SDL, customer and 3rd party resourced.

• Assume responsibility for multiple implementations concurrently.

• Demonstrate competency in the SDL product suite: Tridion DX, TMS, WorldServer, Passolo, GroupShare and Trados Studio .

• Participate in the sales cycle to gather requirements, formulate the delivery approach and develop a proposal/statement of work.

• Provide project governance guidance and coaching to those resources working on their implementations.

• Ensure projects are properly planned and staffed.

• Ensure the client takes advantage of SDL technology & best practices.

• As part of the project management team, contribute to identifying and implementing improvements to delivery

• Ensuring full and efficient utilisation of productive resources by proactively identifying opportunities to accelerate projects (both PM and consultant led), identify pre-work and prioritise investment work also ensuring that conflicts between projects can be identified, negotiated and resolved.

• Maintaining the master schedules including PM and Consultant led projects, pre-sales support, Helpdesk cases, pro-work and investments.

• Deliver client facing meetings, workshops and status documentation.

• Be a liaison for productive resources when interacting with sales, development and the external customer and their suppliers.

• Identify opportunities to position other product and service offerings.

• Deliver projects according to best practise and SDL project management standards to drive projects to deliver to time and budget.

• Effectively track and manage the project planning, resourcing, progress against plan, invoicing, revenue recognition, status, risk & issues and change management for assigned projects.

• Ensure customers are extremely satisfied with SDL products and services provided by the PS team.

• Manage responses and planning for small scale change requests and upgrades.

• Provide occasional training for both clients and partners in the use of SDL products



Key Tasks/Duties:

The key tasks and responsibilities of a Technical Project Manager revolves around the efficient and successful delivery of customer projects and the ownership of any issues within them. The key tasks for this are:

• Assignment of resources to a project and execute on the project plan accordingly.

• Weekly status reporting to customer & Program Manager accordingly.

• Control scope creep and project delays

• Run internal budgets to measure project profitability.

• Ensure accurate allocation of time to timesheets by all resources on the project.

• Escalate issues to management in a timely fashion to avoid customer conflicts.



Essential 



• Business level in Japanese and English is a must (speaking, writing, reading) - Additional language skills are an asset 

• Project Management Professional (PMP) / Prince 2 certification , Expert in agile and waterfall project development methodologies

• Experience in one or more enterprise strength Web Content Management products such as SDL Tridion, ACM, SiteCore, Vignette, Fatwire, Day, Joomla, Sharepoint

• Excellent communicator, including presentations and training

• Highly professional appearance and the natural ability to command presence

• Strong interpersonal skills and the natural ability to communicate effectively internally and externally. Develop relationships, with both technical and non-technical personnel and in a confident and friendly manner

• National and International travel will be required, sometimes for long periods and sometimes at short notice. Therefore the candidate must be comfortable with project locations being away from their base office

• A self-starter able to work independently and be resourceful in terms of finishing tasks and responsibilities

• Tools & Software: JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, HP Service Manager, Crystal Report, IIS
