Job Responsibilities • Hands-on evaluation and interaction with vendors and CMs in response to product quality and production fall-out related to mechanical issues. • Coordinate quality initiatives between interdepartmental teams as well as external suppliers and contract manufacturers. • Actively troubleshoot quality related issues leading to a root cause analysis coupled with corrective action recommendations. • Facilitate and oversee the implementation of corrective actions between vendors, CMs and interdepartmental design groups. • Collaborate with and support design engineering team to optimize and complete Solidworks models, assemblies, and drawings. • Participate in multi-discipline teams utilizing DFMA and FMEA. • Based on quality findings and improvement efforts, provide design suggestions which could improve product quality and offer potential cost reductions. • Manage transitions of plastic tooling from one supplier to another. • Manages the mold list and works with the mechanical design team to implement new tools when needed. • Evaluates delivery schedule risks and assists in the resolution of any mechanical problem that threatens the team to meet production delivery deadlines, including sustaining issues. • Assists in the qualification of new plastic parts. • Capable of multiple project assignments and working within a dynamic open office environment is a must. Specifications • Minimum 4 -year technical degree. • At least 5 years working experience in consumer electronics products, tooling items related. Has the waterproof design product experience is preferred. • Ability to identify production/manufacturing problems and lead resolution efforts. • Must have a good understanding of plastic injection molding, Die-cut tooling, etc.., • Proficiency in Solidworks (3-5 years’ experience), PDM works, Microsoft office, Oracle. • Working knowledge of using Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauge and common hand tools.
