This role is the primary owner of Supplier Quality and factory compliance areas across our Asian supply base. The Manager is responsible to oversee and manage the total quality process (product development, supplier quality management and after-sales services support) and to ensure the quality of the delivered product can satisfy specification, customer and compliance requirement. This position requires extensive experience of working collaboratively alongside with suppliers, customers and internal PD/PM/SM team to develop and implement Quality improvement programs. This role requires considerable travel and on-site participation at supplier and customer locations.





ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Define, implement and manage factory compliance processes to ensure supplier compliance to our code of conduct and various regulatory, customer and market standards, including but not limited to,

o Supplier communication and training around expectations, processes and tools as well as changes in regulation and standards

o Robust audit and corrective action process management, including audit plans and execution, follow up and continuous improvement

o Liaison with US based team with respect to customer specific requirements, policy creation and communication

• Define, implement and manage quality processes to support Supplier and Product Quality Management, including but not limited to:

o Product quality and compliance test planning

o Quality validation and compliance testing

o Production process capability assessment

o NPI readiness deliverables for quality

o Process quality assessment / audit

o Product quality assessment / audit

o Supplier quality performance review and improvement drive

o Field / customer complaint resolving, close SCAR and NCMR in a timely manner

o Change control management including approval and documentation

• Develop and uphold the product quality criteria and ensure our Brands and supplier capability to meet or exceed the criteria

• Define long term quality plans to develop suppliers in best practice, tools and processes to deliver World Class Quality Management Systems

• Manage quality incident investigation, resolution, prevention and reporting

• Manage the Quality and Compliance team, including setting goals and objectives, workload allocation, recruitment, performance development, budget management and day-to-day leadership

• Provide regular quality reports for management review



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coach and educate sub-ordinates meet the goals and objectives set by management – in both functional and soft skills

• Responsible for subordinates attendance, performance, travel planning and expense reimbursement compliant to all company polices 





PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Physical activity includes

walking, standing, bending, squatting, reaching above shoulders and lifting up to 40lbs. Must be able to drive an automobile for short and long distances.



This position requires sitting for a long period of time.





WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Performs office activities in a lighted and ventilated area. May be subject to changes in temperature and exposure to dust. Will be exposed to uncontrolled environmental conditions during driving. Will work in a normally acceptable office environment, with no abnormal hazards or risks. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.







QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

• Detailed understanding of World Class Quality Management principles and their application within complex industrial environment.

• Experience in the use of advanced Quality Management tools and processes, such as SPC, AQL sampling, Minitab

• High degree of initiative, accountability and ability to work with minimal instruction.

• Strong leadership / Teamwork / Interpersonal skills and possess desire to succeed

• Change management and control skills.

• Well developed analytical and problem solving ability and use of 8D or A3 tools.

• Effective verbal and written communication in English and Mandarin.

• Expertise in standard desktop applications, especially those used in the development of presentations, to include Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be able to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities. 

• Thorough understanding of financial impact of decisions.





EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree; or 7-10 years related experience and/or training/ or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

• Solid work experience on mechanical design / quality / engineering discipline 

• Quality Management in a Manufacturing/Engineered Product environment.

• Interfacing and collaborating with suppliers and customers
