Qualifications and Requirements
1. Education & Experience
(1)Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
(2)Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in product design and development, preferably in consumer durables, home appliances, or a related high-volume manufacturing industry.
(3)Demonstrated success in managing the end-to-end product development lifecycle for multiple complex projects, launching them on time, within budget, and to specification.
2. Technical Skills & Expertise (Must-Have)
(1)Product Development Lifecycle: Mastery of stage-gate NPD/NPI processes from concept to mass production and sustaining engineering.
(2)Technical Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX), strong skills in tolerance analysis (GD&T), FEA, and rapid prototyping.
(3)Design for Excellence: Proven expertise in DFM/DFA for injection molding and other high-volume processes.
(4)Quality & Validation: Deep experience with prototyping, validation testing, root cause analysis, and FMEA.
(5)Regulatory Standards: In-depth knowledge of global safety and performance standards (UL, IEC, CE, CSA) and environmental regulations (RoHS, REACH, WEEE).
(6)Tooling & Manufacturing: Hands-on experience collaborating with tooling shops and suppliers on mold design, material selection, and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities
(1)Lead the end-to-end mechanical design and development of new products, ensuring they meet all functional, cost, quality, and timeline objectives.
(2)Define and manage detailed product design specifications, technical risk assessments, and validation plans.
(3)Champion DFM/DFA and value engineering initiatives to optimize product cost, quality, and manufacturability without compromising design intent.
(4)Oversee the creation and release of all engineering documentation, including 3D models, drawings, and BOMs.
(5)Collaborate with external design firms, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to ensure design feasibility and seamless production launch.
