Essential functions:
Engage our sales team and customers
Understand the requirements and challenges for each project.
Effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and within the BTS team.
Work with a variety of product designs, drawings, CAD models, sketches, prototype
parts, etc.
Provide quick budgetary quotes and fully detailed quotes while juggling multiple quotes
at a time:
Effective oral and written communications with customers, suppliers, and within the BTS team in English.
Estimate new projects, make changes to existing equipment, develop a quote that includes out of production customer capital, etc.
Required competency, education, and experience:
BS in related Engineering discipline, or related job experience
3+ years of related work experience- direct experience/positions held where specialty
machines and/or equipment estimating duties were part of daily responsibilities
o Extensive experience and knowledge of Industrial Automation, manufacturing
techniques/best practices
Proven experience with estimating the following:
o Purchasing supply items (robots, pumps, motors, turntables, conveyers,
materials, controls, outsourced design, etc.);
o Processing (developing a suitable manufacturing process including cycle times,
labor requirements, past movements, etc.); and
o Providing detailed itemization of entire project cost
Must have knowledge in the following areas:.
o Metals industry
o Testing equipment
o Adhesive/bonding
o Plastics (assembly, sonic welding, hot plate welding, heat staking, ultrasonic,
decorative, etc.)
o CAD design (AutoCAD, Solid Works, others)
o Project management
o Production environment
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) and file management:
Effective time management skills
