Job Overview
The Electronics Test Engineer/Associate is a critical role within our Product Development team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans to validate the functionality, performance, and robustness of our electronic hardware, embedded firmware and mechanical interface. You will serve as the final gatekeeper of quality before our products reach customers, identifying, documenting, and helping to resolve complex issues at the intersection of hardware, software and mechanical system.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Strategy:
• Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases based on product requirements, design specifications, and firmware features as well as mechanical system’s reliability.
• Estimate effort, schedule, and resource requirements for testing activities.
Test Development & Execution:
Electronics & Mechanical Testing
• Develop test plans and/or test cases for electronic hardware and embedded firmware including mechanical sub-systems.
• Flash firmware onto embedded systems and verify successful deployment.
• Execute manual and automated test cases to validate firmware functionality.
• Perform functional, system, integration, regression, and performance testing on prototype and production units.
• Identify, document, and report bugs or performance issues using issue tracking tools.
• Collaborate with Electronic/Software & Mechanical engineer to refine firmware and mechanical design based on test results.
• Support validation and routine or batch testing of mechanical system/products.
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain detailed records of test procedures, results, and anomalies.
• Create and update test plans, protocols, and validation reports.
• Provide feedback to engineering and production teams to improve product quality.
• Support certification and regulatory testing (e.g., CE, FCC, ISO).
Collaboration & Support
• Work closely with design engineers, QA teams, and production staff.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input on testability and reliability.
• Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Qualifications and Required Skills
Education:
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor or associate degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering Engineering or Equivalent experience in related fields.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in testing and validating embedded systems, including electronics, firmware and electro-mechanical products.
Technical Skills:
• Good understanding of electronic circuits, embedded systems, and firmware architecture.
• Knowledgeable in software and hardware testing methodologies, including writing test cases and bug reports.
• Proficiency in using test equipment and diagnostic tools
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance testing (FMVSS, R129, FCC, CE, UL).
• Experience in Automotive, Medical or Aerospace industries is a plus
