Overview:
Assisting EHS manager in implementing EHS programs throughout SZ facility, trying to achieve EHS target and get a better EHS performance.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise EHS activities by leading the development, implementation and administration of EHS policies, procedures and programs to maintain compliance with all applicable environmental and workplace health and safety laws, standards and regulations.
2. Assist in the development, drafting, implementation and compliance of a Southco EMS based upon compliance with ISO 14001.
3. Serve as the primary point for action and coordination of compliance activities with respect to all environmental, health and safety issues on a company wide basis. Work with the applicable facility personnel on waste stream minimization, disposal and documentation and environmental best practices including implementation and maintenance of Southco’s Environmental Management System.
4. Perform EHS assessments and suggest preventive/corrective actions based on observations while striving for the development of ideas, programs and initiatives for continuous improvement in the EHS area.
5. Review accident reports and analyze accident data to identify patterns of injury and to determine whether adequate investigation was done to determine if unsafe conditions contributed to the accident; advise departments of trends in injuries and proper safety procedures that may result in reduction of injuries; provide departments with information that will allow them to be pro-active in reducing accidents and improving safety
6. Review and provide safety assessment to plans and specifications for new safety equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE’s), machinery and processes to determine if all applicable environmental and safety precautions/issues have been considered and addressed in order to maintain and improve the company’s safety standards.
7. Work with HR to plan, develop and conduct EHS training programs to support the policies and procedures designed to maintain compliance while providing guidance, training and technical support to supervisors, employees and the safety committee on the behavioral safety process and other continuous improvement techniques as they relate to environmental health and safety issues
8. Facilitate the development of departmental EHS professionals within SZ facility while also coaching supervisors and EHS coordinators with the intent of increasing awareness, involvement and commitment in EHS activities.
Requirements:
1. More than 3 years solid experience in EHS Field
2. B.S major in Safety, Environmental, Chemistry etc.
3. Certificate of National Safety Engineer
4. Fluent English communication skills
5. ISO 14001 or RBA system experience
