Overview:
This position is to take the lead in new product development field in NPD. It requires wide range of detail-oriented knowledge and skill. Should have ability to obtain support from all resources available in different Southco facilities to fulfill tasks.
Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and communicate with project leaders and designers as well as all related resources to introduce new products into mass production. 35%
2. Take ownership to assigned new projects, handle cost estimate, prototyping, initial production, business system setup, and problem solving 30%
3. Provide related tech instruction to teammates as to new project development. Assist NPD manager to improve team capability. 20%
4. Make sure the tooling, equipment, fixtures, BOM, WI, Flow chart etc are ready before release to mass production 10%
5. Train operators on the production processes of the new products and assure them quality and safety. 5%
Requirements:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical experience. (Required)
2. Language: Proficiency in English reading/writing; speaking and listening skills are a strong advantage. (Required/Preferred)
3. Positive working attitude, be willing to work under pressure, capable of translating complex engineering challenges into clear, actionable solutions. (Required)
4. CAD & Standards: Proficiency in UG/NX and expert knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) for precision hardware analysis. (Required)
5. Manufacturing Process: Deep expertise in Stamping; familiarity with MIM, CNC, Powder coating, Electroplating, and Painting processes. (Required)
6. Quality Methodology: Proven experience using 8D, DFMEA/PFMEA and Root Cause Analysis to minimize quality costs. (Preferred)
7. Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in new product assembly for high-precision hardware/metal components. (Required)
8. Lifecycle Management: Strong understanding of APQP/PPAP workflows to ensure seamless prototype-to-mass production transition. (Required)
