Responsibilities：

• Works in the department “PDE” regarding NORMA couplings, clamps and connectors.

• Accountable for processing customer inquiries/projects (daily business), including:

• Efficient and fast response to customer inquiries

• Design of products meeting the customer needs/specifications at expected market prices

• Design-to-cost and design-to-manufacture

• Lean inquiry process in participation with other departments (sales, process, calculation, etc.)

• Responsible for all aspects of Norma drawings (e.g. quotation and manufacturing), including the creation and tracking of part numbers

• Communicates the detailed design (eg: component list, drawings, validation results) to the project team

• Develops and maintains the design guide lines, as well as carrying out product training

• Is responsible for organizing testing and calculation as regards technical competitor analysis (e.g.: bench marking)

• Technical design responsibility within project teams (active participation in project teams) and in addition, and can be the project manager for level 1 projects

• Frequent project reviews with project-teams, supervisor, production plant and customers.

• In the role of “product champion”: supports product implementation in other projects and is responsible for the continuous up-dating of product know-how and design (e.g. product design guidelines)

• Identifies, communicates and leads innovation projects.

• Supports the quality department regarding design-related quality complaints.

• Follows and implements the NORMA values and targets as defined by the Group processes, including the Group Core Values and the Code of Conduct.

• Initiates and drives Global Excellence and VA/VE activities

• Together with AE (Application Engineering), is responsible for the definition of customer-owned interfacing components (e.g. flanges, spigots, gaskets, etc.)

• Is responsible for the product verification and validation process as required to satisfy the customers’ demands and reduce risk for NORMA, including the responsibility for establishing the D-FMEA

• Travels as required to customers, suppliers and NORMA locations (less than 50% travel time).

• Continuous improvement of self-knowledge, for instance via trainings, seminars and/or additional tasks outside of the key Product Engineering assignments.



Qualifications：

• Formal education in engineering, automotive or similar

• Experience in designing metal components (preferably for automotive applications)

• Good Chinese and English language skills

• Competent in concisely defining problems and formulating customer solutions as part of the project team

• Ambitious, self-driven and socially competent with excellent communications and relationship building skills

• An entrepreneurial, highly-motivated and fast-paced professional attitude
