 美光在中国的第一家工厂位于西安，这座用于测试和封装的工厂在本地基础设施，支持和服务，员工数量，制造设备，产能，产品，以及生产效率上一直历经着强劲增长。
美光还在上海设有两个研发中心。一个位于浦东外高桥保税区，从事并行NOR和EMMC的产品开发和NAND设计验证。另一个位于漕河泾开发区，从业内先进工艺技术的DRAM设计，SSD和EMMC产品的软件开发。两个研发中心相互辉映，为位于亚洲的手机和消费类电子设备制造商提供有力支持。
此外，美光上海系统工程实验室提供的切实和实时的产品开发和互动交流，帮助并推动了客户优化他们的存储系统。
